Sangiovese.,
A rich, dry wine, showing burgundy red in the glass ? mouth filling yet
balanced and crisp. Its aroma whispers of cherry and raspberry, spiced
with vanilla and cinnamon. Flavours of sweet and bitter cherries, plums,
as well as coffee, leather and bay leaves entertain the plate. As well,
the well-balanced nature of the acid accentuates its fruity and spicy
taste with violet nuances. The finish is clean and pleasant, yet
slightly sweet as a result of the tannin and wood sugars. Sangiovese is
best matched to red meats, fowl and vegetables that are roasted or
grilled with olive oil, herbs and garlic.
